Intelligible speech under a dome
The acoustic problem
Domes and curved surfaces focus sound, making it excessive at some points and inaudible at others. Long reverberation reduces the intelligibility of both speech and music, while the traditional surfaces usually have to be preserved.
Our approach
To keep the visual integrity we use micro-perforated or rear-absorbing timber surfaces. Diffusers are placed on the curves that cause focusing, and measurements before and after document the difference.
